CMC Silver TTH02 16x Speed DVD-R Media

I have just sent a few samples of some new 16x speed DVD-R media from a popular on-line store. This media is manufactured by CMC to TDK specifications and has the mid TTH02. As these discs are pre-release samples they are yet unbranded and have the plain silver top surface, the underside is a smooth, light purple dye with a clear center ring with the marking DVD-R 4906A2 on the silver ring and the batch code MTP******* adjacent to the center hole. The edges are smooth with no excess glue protrusions

Pioneer DVR-109 v1.50

NEC ND-3520AW v3.04
CAV 16x Speed The Pioneer 109 managed a burn up to the 16x maximum in 5min 58sec
CAV 16x Speed The NEC ND3520AW reached 16X burn in 5min.58sec
PI start about 10 and gradually increasing up to a peak of 224 at the end just a little high (but within the accepted maximum I allow of about 300)
Jitter steady increase between 10% & 15% with an average of 12% good result here
PIF apart from the 2 minor spikes of 19 it is virtually non existent
PI apart from the one spike of 119 it reaches a maximum about 80. A good result
Jitter is fairly constant and remains in the 10% - 15% range
PIF is virtually nil

BENQ DW1620 B7T9

Pioneer DVR-106D v1.08 4x Speed
P-CAV increase from 6x to 12x speed which is the maximum I could get.
Later firmwares only reached 8X maximum
CLV at 4x speed
PI 20 - 84 with no large fluctuations a good scan
Jitter good results here average 11%
PIF virtually non existent
PI Peaks at just over 100 which is good especially for a 4x drive on 16x media
Jitter Very good averaging 10.2%
PIF next to nothing
Some fluctuations after 3.5gig but no errors. 8x burn with later firmware produced a perfect graph click graph to see
A few minor fluctuations to an otherwise perfect scan

The scans from this media are all good but show an increase in errors as expected at the outer edge high speed burn area, but not to be the cause of any concern The speed scans are all virtually perfect with the exception of the Benq 12x scan which I have to put down to irregularities of the drive which prefers DVD+R to DVD-R media. There is no problems with playback of any of the burns in my variety of DVD players.

We have another disc to add to my collection.
