The surviving members of the Monty Python team are so miffed at people ripping off their videos on Youtube they have set up a channel on the site.
In a statement on the site, the Pythons say that the wanted to make a complaint. For the last three years the video sharing site has been ripping them off, taking tens of thousands of their videos and putting them on the Interwibble without credit.
"Now the tables are turned. It's time for us to take matters into our own hand... We know who you are, we know where you live and we could come after you in ways too horrible to tell," they say
here.
The comedians said the clips from their television show and movies would be high-quality and free.
In return they do not want drivelling, mindless comments. Instead, they want punters to click on the links, buy the movies and TV shows and soften their pain and disgust at being ripped off all these years.
The new channel also features a video in which Michael Palin, Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam explain the decision to launch their own YouTube channel.
